My class has been blessed to receive extra help in the classroom by an amazing group of young women. On top of a demanding academic schedule at Wake Forest and being active members of the Delta Zeta Sorority, these ladies have donated their time every week tutoring in our classroom. The relationships and bonds my students have created with these undergrads have been amazing to watch. My favorite thing about Tuesday morning is watching my students enter the classroom with smiles spread ear to ear eagerly awaiting their afternoon tutorial session. There is no greater gift to me as the teacher than to see my students excited to learn. I want to thank Sarah, Sophie, Jackie, Padgett, Ashton, and Lauren for volunteering their time, patience, and knowledge to our classroom. You all will be dearly missed and good luck with all your future endeavors. Maybe (hopefully) we will see some of you at Kimmel Farm again next year.
I would like my students to add additional comments below about their experience with our Wake Forest Volunteers.

Hi everyone!
ReplyDeleteI am going to miss coming to see you guys on Tuesdays after school...it was one of my favorite times of the week! I had such a fun time and great experience with all of you and I hope you got to learn a little something from me. Some of the math we learned was tricky, but you guys always stuck it out and worked hard until you found an answer. Always remember to stick with things, even when they get hard. You are all awesome and I hope third grade treats you well!
Love, Miss Jackie
To each of the tutor "girls" - I wanted to express my deep appreciation. It has truly been a blessing and a great experience for my daughter (Shauna). I've never seen a child so excited about being tutored - it was amazing. We wish you the best of luck in your future - and once again....Thank you so much. She will miss you!!!
